DBT 0346: John McMahon – Head Cases

Wow, I so enjoyed talking to this author. This first book in the series, Head Cases, is so good and so interesting—I cannot wait to see the second book. Listen to our discussion about that. I now know the title of the second book, Inside Man, and I cannot wait to read it.

There’s something so compelling about this series and the quirky characters in it. Nothing like the shows on TV that are supposed to be similar—you get so much more from the book.

And HBO has the rights to this one. Will they make it? Who knows. You will hear John talk about that. Here’s to it happening. You know how Hollywood is—one day they want you, the next they move on. And why are TV shows so different from their respective books? It’s annoying, a lot.

You will love John, and his honesty about what he goes through day by day will interest you. Writing is not an easy job, though it does seem to be easier for some than for others.

John’s earlier series, which I have not read, The Good Detective series, seems to be on hold. Let John tell you about that.
