DBT 0228: Kathy Garver – X Child Stars

Kathy Garver was in FAMILY AFFAIR from 1966 to 1971, 138 half-hour episodes, and survived childhood fame.

She is a terrific conversationalist, I just wish I had more time to talk to her. She knows a lot of child stars personally. This is one of the shorter interviews, only about 20 minutes, but still an interesting look at what it is like to be a child star.

This book goes through all the child stars from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s. So much fun to read, and you get to see what all the child stars are doing today. How interesting.

But there is tragedy also. Anissa Jones did not survive Family Affair, and what a shame. It is not an easy life in any way, but the rewards can be great, but what happens and how you handle it all seems to be dependent on how you are raised. I want to hear more from this fascinating lady, but here is a small sample of what I hope is to come.
